I'll stamp all over 'serious fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former twice world boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
